Job title: Shop Foreman

Pay: Starting at $24 - $28 an hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30pm

Location: Spokane Valley, Washington

The Shop Forman helps support the Manager in promoting company Best Practices, safety standards, management of rolling-stock, coordinates globally where required to maximize company resources, and consistently assists all yards in delivering legendary service. This individual will, as directed, collaborate with managers and other division heads to promote teamwork across yards and focus on solutions.

This position reports directly to the Manager and works closely with all employees at the Millworks facility.

Qualifications

• 2 years of previous experience in a similar job
• 1 year of leadership experience preferred
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• OSHA Certified Forklift License
• Ability to speak, write, and read English required
• Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other
• equipment necessary for the job
• Must be able to type 40 WPM
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must have reliable transportation

Duties and Responsibilities

Operations and Leadership

• Demonstrates servant leadership
• Assist in the vetting and hiring process of operational employees as needed
• Assists in new hire training as needed
• Drive a People First Culture
• Helps facilitate a high level of communication
• Helps to set and maintain PARR brand standards
• Assists managers in identifying new programs and or adherence to existing programs
• Helps identify, vet, and promote Operational Best Practices
• Utilizes and supports the Manager in managing the Employee Attendance program as a tool for continuous improvement, and the growth of our employees
• Inspect condition of rolling stock fleet - identify issues with Manager and Fleet
• Helps facilitate the sharing of rolling stock opportunities within the region
• Walks yard with Manager and helps identify safety and housekeeping concerns
• Participates in Operations Meetings and calls
• Conducts performance reviews for the team
• Ability to assume Management of yard operations in times of need (vacations, sick days, etc.)
• Helps manage biannual Inventory and quality control
• Oversees daily operations of all departments - truck loading, dispatch, production
• Monitors Production capacity
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Safety

• Promotes and helps ensure compliance of safety policy and procedures
• Follows safety and drug policies
• Works with Managers other leaders at the yard level to review equipment and maintenance
• Assists with organization of safety committee & participates as requested
• Assists with post-accident and 3rd party investigations
• Participates in monthly safety meetings as requested
• Behaves professionally and confidently in all situations
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
• Can clearly explain feedback to team members in regular intervals
• Encourages team environment and helps to set attainable goals
• Collaborates with Managers, Assistant Managers, other Division Heads as directed

This position primarily works indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
